Where have you been?

Things have been a little busy around here. I am taking an aqua aerobics class M-Th and strength training. I love my class, I look forward to the class and I have met a lot of nice older ladies. I am working every muscle in my body - but I feel energized and I am a little bit more relaxed. I am working on improving me and this helps me become a better mom.

I am enjoying this small break from my children. It gives them a chance to miss me and it gives me the much needed break I deserve.

Weekend Fun

Hey fellow bloggers,

I had a great weekend, we celebrated my daughters 5Th birthday. She was so excited from the time she woke up until she went to bed. We had a small gathering but the big bash will be when my mom comes up next month to visit. I hope you all had a fun-packed weekend.

On another note I am just trying to prepare myself mentally for this upcoming craft show I signed up for. I will be super busy preparing products the next couple of weeks, but I will try to keep you updated with my progress.

Great Homeschooling Start

I am totally excited to begin my Homeschooling journey. My hubby found a great site www.freecycle.org where items are reused or recycled to reduce the amount of waste in our landfills.

Anyway there was a family giving away teachers guides for K - 3 math, phonics and reading, curriculum, math flash cards, God and Me devotional book, and these awesome arithmetic drill set cards.

I really love the cards because they teach cardinal numbers, shapes, money, calender and linear measures, clock measures, weight measures, capacity, fractions, temperatures, roman numerals, place value, number comparisons and process terminology. That is all included in the first set. I was truly impressed.

They are published through A Beka Book (A Christian Home school Textbook/Ministry). These cards are definitely a great learning tool for teaching your children.

Bubble Busting Morning

Okay, I know that kids can be brutally honest but could they sugarcoat it a little. Here I am trying to love on my daughter and give her a hug, she looks up at me and says in the sweetest little voice "Mommy, your breath stinks" (mind you we just ate breakfast). Can you believe the nerve of this little girl Oh my goodness.

My miss soon to be 5 this Saturday is all drama all of the time from sun up to sun down. I have plenty more little stories and sayings to share with you all.

I am in good company

Here is a great video I found while surfing the net. Who-hoo, I am not the only one learning how to swim in later years. If you have the time check it out. I was truly inspired.

Snap Shots

Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com

I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.

Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you "look ahead," before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.

Summer Swim Lessons

Well, who gave me the crazy notion to start swimming at 30(something). Am I out of my mind, what was I thinking?

My swim instructor must think my classmates and I know how to swim already. He proceeds to ask us what the four basic strokes are - Freestyle, Breaststroke, Floating (front and back), Backstroke, etc. Then he says 'Well you will know all of these by the end of two weeks. Okay jump in the water' . Hello we are starting out in 5ft in really deep water with a movable floor.

At this point I am mortified, I don't know how to swim and neither does anybody else in this class. Needless to say we all learned how to freestyle, front/back float and backstroke. That was just day one.

Today- Day 2

We learned how to tread water, back float again and the breaststroke. Despite everyone's drowning fear I have to say I am doing pretty good. I'll keep you posted.
