The Free Gift

I attended a funeral this past Friday of a family member and it just really put everything in perspective for me. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and I am not ashamed to say it. I know where I will spend eternity when I leave this earth. If you are also a believer that is wonderful and I am talking to my brother or sister in Christ (Let us continue to spread the love of Christ). But if you are not, you still have time to accept Jesus in your heart. Come as you are, it doesn't matter what you have done or how messed up you think you are. God is waiting right where you are with open arms just waiting for you to accept Him.

John 3:16 "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life".

Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". (The penalty for our sin is eternal death in a place called Hell)

Romans 3:23 "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". (No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his/her own merit. No matter how much good we do, we still fall short)

Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10-"For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved". (Everlasting life is a free gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith)

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"

Do you know where you will spend eternity? Is your spiritual house in order? Now is the time, don't wait to accept the free gift of Salvation that has been provided for you. Tomorrow is not promised to us and as we can see life is all too short. Just take Bernie Mac for example, who knew that he would no longer be living this week. You just never know.

If you have read this blog and you want to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior you can say this prayer and receive the love that Christ has just waiting for you -

Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner, I know I deserve to pay for my sin in Hell. Please forgive me of my sins and I ask that you to come into my heart. I believe that you died on the Cross for my sins and that you are alive and seated at the right hand of God in Heaven. I trust in you and you alone and that when I die you will take me to Heaven. Help me to live for you - a life of victory knowing that you will always be there and you will never leave me nor forsake me... In Jesus' name Amen.

Farm Animal Cruelty

My husband found this site accidentally, it is worth the watch. If you don't know where your food comes from, you need to watch this video. I must warn you - You will be angry, sick to your stomach and ready to boycott the meat industry.

http://www.chooseveg.com/animal-cruelty.asp

I am in tears over how these animals are being treated. This is the food that we buy from the grocery store and the food we have to eat. Granted I do not eat red meat or pork (Every once and a while I will break down and have a burger) but I do eat chicken, turkey and fish (wild, not farm raised-that is another issue within itself).

As I sat here and watched squirming in my seat and nearly ready to throw up my just eaten egg whites and turkey I am wondering how crazy must these farmers, farm workers and the USDA and FDA be. How is it possible that farm animals with deadly diseases, mutilated body parts and broken bones (all while enduring inhumane/torturous conditions) be allowed to enter into our food market?

Has everyone gone mad? Is everyone so money hungry or full of greed that regard for human life no longer exist? What is it going to take - a boycott for them to treat innocent animals with some type of dignity? I am not telling you to boycott, but the choice is yours-How do you feel about your food knowing what you know now?

Now I am not saying treat animals better than human beings, but I am saying treat our food that we have to eat with lot more respect.

A Short Break

I took a little time off from blogging to spend time with my family. My mom and family were visiting from Texas this week. My best friend is here from Florida and I have been enjoying it all.

Things have been a little busy here. My cousin got married this past weekend and the wedding was absolutely beautiful. We all had a wonderful time. Mom just left on Monday and the visit was way too short. I wish we had more time. Then we received the news that my Great Aunt had passed. So if you think of me pray for my Grandmother and my family members.

I will reflect on all the fun and fellowship we had together and hopefully that will last until we can see each other again.
